"BriAnjë" is Pavlo's latest composition, inspired by Brittany Mastronardi, who succumbed to a very rare disease at the age of 11.
This song - dedicated to a little girl with a great message - is a free download, currently available only through this website.
PAVLO, in his own words:
"As a writer and composer, I am continually driven and inspired by my passions and my emotions. I don’t over analyze or think too hard about an idea, I simply take my guitar and let my fingers turn my emotion into music. In essence, my music has become my language. I never go seeking for the song; I believe the song finds me. This was the case with this most recent inspiration, and I believe it is meant to be shared.
There is a winery in Kingsville, Ontario where I perform at each year – Mastronardi Estate Winery. I've always taken an interest in wine, so I naturally like to tour the vineyard and inquire about the winery's history. The first wine ever bottled on this estate was a Riesling, the Founders, Eadie and Tony Mastronardi branded their first creation, "BriAnjë". The name comes from the Portuguese language. It translates to "Angel Brittany".
The Mastronardi's, always remember their daughter, Brittany. Sadly, she succumbed to a very rare and fatal neuro-degenerative brain disease, called Batten Disease. She was only eleven. When they speak of her, their faces light up; how she smiled, how she never cried, how much she loved music, about all the people that fell in love with Brittany, and all the memories they made enjoying her life together. Brittany’s grave-marker reads:
"We gave her life to teach her love; She gave us love to teach us life."
Although Brittany could not say a word, through her beautiful simplicity; pure and humble, she taught and inspired the greatest lesson: CELEBRATE LIFE!
I never had the privilege of meeting Brittany in person, but I am blessed to say that I believe she certainly found me. Some messages never need to be accompanied by words, yet can sooth your spirit. I hope this song becomes a reminder to take a moment, and
CELEBRATE LIFE!
